Our Mission
NJAWBO is dedicated to the success of New Jersey women business owners. We help them grow by providing the best learning and collaborative environment through all stages of business development. Our mission is:
To address the challenges unique to women business owners.
To provide the tools necessary for business success:
- Through programs and resources that accelerate growth and profitability of seasoned women-owned businesses.
- Support aspiring women entrepreneurs.
To serve as their voice to the legislature.

What is NJAWBO?
NJAWBO (The New Jersey Association of Woman Business Owners) is the largest statewide women business owners' organization in the United States. Its primary objective is to support and encourage business ownership by women. Since 1978, NJAWBO has helped women achieve their business visions by providing them with the tools to develop and grow their enterprises.
Dubbed "New Jersey's Most Powerful Network" by Business News New Jersey, networking, partnering, leadership, education and political advocacy are the hallmarks of the NJAWBO experience. As of today, NJAWBO has grown to approximately a thousand members, organized in twelve chapters, and three regional groupings, with members serving as officers at the chapter, regional and state levels. Together, we are a diverse, dynamic, and powerful group of women business owners.
The increasing success of women-owned businesses in our society will continue to build on itself and contribute to the development of still more confident women, running thriving, thoroughly accepted businesses. And the very special place of NJAWBO – women supporting women – will continue to be an important environment for women business owners in New Jersey.

Annette is a senior marketing and advertising professional with over 25 years of experience in all levels and channels of marketing; from business and product development and strategic planning, to media planning, marketing communications, event management and program implementation. In 2002, she launched her own company, Annette St. John, LLC, specializing in working with small and medium size businesses helping them create business plans and marketing strategies for establishment and growth. Annette joined NJAWBO in 2004 and has been on the board of the Union County Chapter since 2006. |

Carolyn Schaedel is a merchandising professional, with over twenty years of progressively responsible positions with major department, specialty stores and wholesale businesses. Her passion for product has brought her to explore the idea of sustainability in the products we use everyday; expanding that idea while delivering a sound business model and educating the consumer that it is not such an inconvenient truth. |

Alicia Jones, CEO of Strategy Solutions, has over 10 years of experience working with businesses and organizations assisting with strategic management and marketing. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kean University with a B.S. in Marketing. Strategy Solutions has worked with municipal and county governments, large and small organizations. In August of 2009, Strategy Solutions launched their first brand, Marketing Maven, specializing in helping small businesses master the world of online marketing from web sites to social networks. Alicia sits on the boards of several organizations in Union County, including the NJSBDC at Kean University, NJAWBO, the YWCA of Central New Jersey and the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce. |

Stacy has over 14 years experience in various aspects of accounting ranging from small business to corporate accounting with a concentration on small business development, development and implementation of profit generating efficiencies, complete financial statement compilations and reviews, budget and forecasting activities, etc. Stacy has a Masters Degree in Accounting, is a member of the New Jersey Association of CPA’s, a Certified Quickbook’s® ProAdvisor, and a notary public. Stacy joined NJAWBO in 2009 and sits on the board of the Union County Chapter. |

Kajsa-Stina has over 10 years experience in various aspects of accounting ranging from individual income taxes to corporate business taxes with a concentration on individual income tax returns, business tax returns, trust and estate tax returns, tax planning, and quarterly tax filings etc. Kajsa-Stina has a Masters Degree in Accounting, is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s. Kajsa-Stina joined NJAWBO in 2009 and sits on the board of the Union County Chapter. |
